Frequently Asked Questions
About Our Notarial Services
1. What does a Notary Public do?
A Notary Public is an official authorized by the state to verify the identity of signers, witness signatures, and administer oaths. Their main duty is to prevent fraud and ensure that documents are signed willingly and knowingly.
2. What types of documents can you notarize?
We notarize a wide range of documents, including:
Loan and real estate documents
Power of Attorney forms
Wills and trusts
Medical authorizations
Business contracts and affidavits
School and travel consent forms
If you’re unsure whether your document needs notarization, just ask — we’re happy to help.
3. What identification do I need for notarization?
You must present a valid government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license, passport, or state ID. The ID must be current and not expired to verify your identity properly.
4. Can you travel to me for notary services?
Yes! We offer mobile notary services and can travel to your home, business, hospital, nursing home, or other convenient location. Travel fees may apply depending on your location.
5. How much do notary services cost?
Fees depend on the document type and travel distance. Standard notarization starts at the state-approved rate, with additional fees for mobile service, after-hours requests, or multiple documents. You can contact us for a personalized quote.
6. Do I need witnesses for my document?
Some documents require witnesses in addition to the notary. You may bring your own witnesses, or we can help arrange them if needed (additional fees may apply).
7. Can you notarize documents in another language?
Yes, as long as the notary and signer can both communicate clearly in the same language and the document is complete. However, we do not provide translation services.
10. How can I schedule an appointment?
You can easily schedule by calling 309-929-9038, visiting LuminaNotary.net, or emailing Aujennes@Proton.me. Walk-ins may be accepted depending on availability, but appointments are recommended.
